About Nuuksio (or Solvalla):

For camping it is best to continue driving northwards from the parking lot on Nuuksiontie for about 4 km and turn left on a smaller road with wooden signs (Nuuksion Kansallispuisto, Haukkalampi). Drive the road following the signs (for about 3 km) and park at the parking lot. Next follow the well marked path to Haukkalampi camping ground. The camping is only allowed at marked camping grounds inside the National Park, but it is free. Also the water from the lakes is drinkable, but boiling is still advised. Drinking straight from small rapidly flowing streams can be done without any precautions (ie. no filtering or iodine tablets are needed). Yo u can also camp a bit higher from the rock climbign cliff, so just walk uphill from the top for about 100 to 200 m and pitch your tent. Just don't lite any camp fires as The Nordic Countries Every Mans Right allows you to camp for a night or two (but not too close to anybodys building, and special rules apply for National and Conservative Parks).
Nearest town or city: Espoo
Directions: Drive the Highway 1 towards Turku and exit to Kehä III eastwards. Drive a couple of hundrets of meters and exit to road 110 (towards Veikkola). Drive the 110 road for 4 km and turn right to road Nuuksiontie (roadsign Nuuksio or Solvalla). Drive this road roughly 7 km and the cliff is at the roadside on your right. Go past the cliff for 200 m and park on the big parking lot (parking is free). For ice climbing park at the same lot and continue on foot on Nuuksiontie for circa 500 m until you see a couple of houses on your left and a downhill skiing lift on your right. Walk through the houses (there is a good path) towards the lake. Walk almost straight across the lake as the left ice climbing sector can be clearly seen. The right sector is about 100 m on climbers right from the left sector. There are usually about 10 small ice boulders in between.
