About Vercors - Mont Aiguille:

A mountain on the east side of the Vercors, first climbed in 1492, and considered as the cradle of rock climbing. Due to its height (2,086 m or 6,900 ft) the climbing season begins in mid-spring and ends in late October.
Nearest town or city: Grenoble (and Gap)
Directions: From Grenoble, drive southwards on A51 then N75 direction Monestier-de-Clermont, then direction CLelles + Col de La Croix Haute.
You can either turn right (westwards) in Saint-michel-Les-Portes (route D8A) or turn right 8 km later just before Clelles (route D7 to Chichilianne).
From Saint-Michel-Les-Portes, park 5 km later near the bridge before the hamlet of La Bâtie.
On the road from Clelles to Chichilianne, turn right to Ruthière then Richardière then to the forest. Park.
From both parking places, pathes lead to the Col de L'Aupet, between the Vercors and the Mont-Aiguille.
