About 13- Massif des Pyrénées:

It's not easy to find a typical landscape from the Pyrénées. The Atlantic influence in the west with green landscapes, the dry landscapes in the east under Mediterranean influence, the high central summits with snow... Here some deep valley and steep summits in the heart of the Massif. Photograph by yeti.

This long and large mountaineous area (400 x 200 kilometers) is the natural frontier between France and Spain, from the Atlantic Ocean (the famous Pays-Basque and its surfers...) to the Mediterranean Sea. The highest point (Pico d'Aneto, 3405 m) is in Spain. It can be very wild, with extremely remote areas. The high elevations offer alpine routes, while the foothills and the valleys offer more accessible crags. Targassonne is one of the most famous bouldering area in France as well, perfect for summer bouldering due to its elevation.
