It's situated in the central part of the Retezat Mountains with altitudes ranging from 1500 to 2511m (on Peleaga Peak). The rocks are granites, granodiorites, tonalites, metamorphosed in the western part (mylonites). There are a lot of unclimbed walls. The majority of established routes date from the '70s and '80. |

Directions: | From Hateg go towards Petrosani, torn right at Ohaba de Sub Piatra and than go forward untill the road ends. Than on foot to Pietrele Chalet (about 1400 m altitude) or Gentiana. You can camp near Bucura Lake at 2000 m altitude. |
