About Bella Coola:

Bella Coola offers great climbing with great views. Climbed earlier in the early 1970's until the new wave of climbing in the early 1990's. Climbing starts at the bottom of the "hill" with the big slabs and walls located around Hagensborg - 18 km from Bella Coola. Most routes are well protected with updated bolts and anchors. Snootli Express does have 40 m run outs on 5.8 friction sections. This route will see further protection in the near future. When the route was first established in 93 route setting and exploring was high and as expected dollars were low. A word of caution about accessing local crags, be cautious of local wildlife ie: bears - black / grizzly (carry a can of bear spray, with bears being more sensitive around spring - new cubs / hunger) and some local residents who don't take lightly to tresspassers . Lots of free camping in the area in BC Forest Campgrounds or logging roads just off Hwy #20. Enjoy
