About Highway 11:
The Orient Bay boasts over 100 magnificent ice routes located along an 11 mile (not kilometer) stretch of highway 11. These routes provide climbing for all levels. Some routes stretch out to over 90 meters high, and the ice climbing season generally starts toward the end of November and lasts until April. Snow shoes are helpful for many aproaches. Look for a red on black "0" sign nailed to a tree on the right side of HWY 11 25Km north of the intersection of HWY's 11 and 17. Use this sign as a reference point for locating the routes listed. |
