Description:
APPROACH--29 miles from Wonder Lake, via McGonagall Pass, up the Traleika Glacier to the 7,000 foot base on the Main Fork.
TOTAL TIME--16 to 30 days
VERTICAL GAIN--13,300 feet
DIFFICULTIES & DANGERS--Two major avalanche prone icefalls must be crossed; several short sections of up to 60 degree ice and snow may be encountered.
CAMPS--8,300; 10,400; 11,000; 11,500 (col on the ridge); 11,500 (beneath icefall); 13,900; 14,700; 16,500; 18,400 (on the Northeast Ridge).
