Description:
A good El Cap starter route for the semi-experienced wall climber. This route is a "must!" It's gone clean before but required using fixed heads, pins, etc. Bring a hammer, heads and pins. Unless you're Joe Offwidth, you might want to bring along a Big Bro, big cam or tree branch (don't laugh, there was one there when I did it) for the Bismark. Send your partner up to lead this one - you can hang out on the Bismark Ledge, arguably the finest bivi on this side of the Big Stone! This is a PROUD line that soars upward through the mightiest face of El Cap. It isn't much harder than Zodiac, the Trip or The Shield, but at 26 pitches, it's a lot longer. You'll find continuously sustained moderate climbing that will keep you thinking, but nowhere is it particularly hard. You'll feel like a hero after this one, that's for sure.

Ascent Note
Got it on the second attempt (bailed from pitch 4 on the first due to dehydration). Did it in 11 or 12 days solo. Did it clean (using most fixed gear).
My first wall (first time on anything longer than grade III).
