About Pulpit Rock:
Intriguing pillar that seems to stick out of nowhere by the 120 and 140 split across the river. A handful of good routes and like most places in the Valley, almost always no one around. Only accessible in the fall when the river level is low. |
Nearest town or city: | Yosemite Valley |
Directions: | Park in the large pullout at the 120/140 split. Hike down 140 about 200 yards until you're almost straight across the river from the pillar and look for a small gully full of loose rock across the river leading up the hill. Make your way across the river and head for that gully. It will bring you to the base of Pulpit Rock. Or just bushwhack through Poison Oak up the hill toward it. |
