About Anthony Shoals:

This area is a small group of boulders, 6 or 7 of which have climbable problems. The rock quality is good and the boulders are mostly clean. What makes this area stand out is its easy access and scenic setting. You can drive to within 200 yards of the rock. The boulders overlook a beautiful area of rapids and shoals on the Broad River. Not a bad place to spend an afternoon.
Nearest town or city: Elberton
Directions: This area is located on Anthony Shoals WMA about 17 miles south of Elberton, GA on Hwy. 79. From the bridge over the Broad River on Hwy. 79 drive north about 1.5 miles and look for a gravel road on the left just before the first paved road on the left. Take this gravel road in until it deadends by the river. Hike upstream on the trail about 200 yards and you'll get to the rock.
