About the thinking spot:
Most commonly used by various church camps and adventure programs for rappelling, this outcropping of granite lies just on the north end of Payette Lake near McCall Idaho. Routes are mostly one pitch, hand-sized + cracks, requiring large pro, or do an easy walk up and use the rappell anchors for top roping. routes vary from 5.8 to REALLY FRICKIN' HARD! (see picture). Lots of bouldering around the main crag, tons of fun granite, bring your tape. elvislegs. From the center of town, follow signs to ponderosa st park. before you get to the park, take a right on lick creek road and follow it around the right side of the lake (it turns into Eastside Dr.) and past a campground until you see the imposing rocks on your right. |
