Sport climbing, on sandstone.
At the northernmost end of the Jackson Falls climbing area, is a large 60+ foot high freestanding tower, this is Railroad Rock. To get to Railroad Rock, follow the main path all along the cliffline, and you'll come to the south facing wall. You may also exit the forest, and walk north along the railroad tracks for awhile until you come to the obvious huge boulder, with a path back into the woods. From the main parking area, you may also stay on the path at the top of the cliffline for a long time, and come to a 3rd class scramble down. Go back a little south into the hallway and to Railroad Rock. |
