About Sport Climbs in Red Lodge:
Beartooth Mountain Range |
Nearest town or city: | Red Lodge |
Directions: | Take Route 212 south to Ski Run Road (road sign says West Fork Road) or follow the signs to the Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort. Drive 3 miles west to where Ski Run Road and West Fork Road fork. (There will be another sign for the Red Lodge Ski Resort). At the crux of the fork are 5-6 "beartooth" granite formations jutting from the side of the hill. The approach is very short, less than 20 yards from the road. The granite is at least 40 feet high, maybe 4-5 well-placed sport routes evenly distributed. Didn't climb all of them, climbed a few that might rate 5.5-5.7. Toproping possible. Clean rock. |
