About Oak Creek Canyon:
If you're looking for a huge amount of height and climbing in a single day and you've either exhausted Black Velvet or aren't quite ready for it, then Oak Creek Canyon is the place for you. Famous for the massive, yet moderate Solar Slab as well as the monstrous Eagle Wall deeper in, Oak Creek is the place for you if you love to climb huge climbs.
Access:Access Issue!!!!: The peregrine falcons have returned to nest on Eagle Dance this year (Winter 2005/6) so consider the route closed until further notice. Please pm the Area Manager with any questions. Bivy permits are available for the Eagle Wall (Levitation 29, Eagle Dance, etc) due to the approach and descent. When to Climb: For the most part, almost every climb of note in Oak Creek is South facing, making this canyon a cool weather destination. Classics of the area: Solar Slab, Sunflower, Black Orpheus, Chicken Lips, Levitation 29 Update: A new section has been added. If you're looking for any of the sections on the south side of the canyon or those on the main face of Mount Wilson, please see the Mt. Wilson Area
