Starting at the lowest point of the Curly buttress of Boott Spur, gain climber's right side of the main ridge. Ascend to ridge occasionally but keep to climbers right. Several rampy corners with entertaining exits. Traverse out of "foxhole" belay (top of 4th Pitch) to gain last, long corner having chimney cracks exit. Leave corner via chimney cracks and keep right through loose 60' and bend left to slot chimney. Last move crux across slot to 4th class and anchor at balanced boulder. 4th class to top of buttress and cross to the Boott Spur Trail near the top of Boott Spur.

Descent Options:

Boott Spur Trail to Pinkham Notch or Boott Spur Trail to Boott Spur Link Trail to Hermit Lake and Tuckerman Ravine Trail to Pinkham Notch.

4 out of 5 stars Rope-solo Adventure climbing

Bushwhack via Hillmans Highway 1.5 hrs from Hermit Lake. Done in 5 pitches, but the first two (30m & 28m) could have been combined as only the starting moves were 5th class. Pitch 3 and above all 5th class. 3rd, 4th and 5th pitches very entertaining!
