About Mt. Osceola(East Osceola):
Hike to the 4156 foot peak(East Osceola) and across the ridge to Osceola(4349). Its a really steep and rocky hike to the top and it takes a few hours but the view is amazing. If you take the Greeley Ponds trail its very flat untill you get to the trail crossing where you take a right up to East Osceols summit. The path starts to get very rocky and steep. Once you reach the summit of East Osceola you can go back down but most people decide to continue on to the summit of Osceola. The trail starts to go down East Osceola and gets flat untill you have reached the hike up to the summit. This is where the hike really gets tough. After you have gone up a steep path for about 7 minutes there is a chiney you can go through or around. The ime difference is about 10 secconds so eather way is fine but the chimney is more fun. The path continues to be steep for a while then gets flat just as your about th reach the top. It's hard to bieleve that you hiked all that way from where your standing at the top. It has a really great view on a clear day and still a great view if its coudy. There is also the Tripoli road trail which is a more eaiser trail but you only summit Osceola instead of East Osceola. |
