Description:

Awesome first lead. Lots of jugs and small cracks for pro. Small to medium cams and a set of nuts. Nice belay ledge - can support 3 persons comfortably. Tree at belay ledge is suspect. Fabulous views from the belay ledge and the top.

4 out of 5 stars The Rib

Lead part of the first pitch (first lead, I got a little sketched at a ledge so my partner took over). Easy climb but the 5.3 grade might be a little decieving with quite a few small, but adequete crimps, and lots of foot smears. A couple of no-fall ledges you really need to be wary of if on lead, otherwise protects well. Definitely a classic with awesome views and airy exposure starting right around first belay ledge.

4 out of 5 stars Nice climb!

Eric did a nice job of leading this one. Wasn't expecting to be smearing footholds on a 5.3! Lots of fun on this climb. Found very new rap slings on a big tree at the top, thanks to whomever cleaned up the station. The belay tree at the top of P1 is dead, Eric used small cams to build a anchor.

4 out of 5 stars fun

a smooth and clean DWG climb. the tree is dead at the top of P1 but can be backed up with other gear.
if you and your partner have radios, run it out as one pitch to the top.

5 out of 5 stars A lot of Ticks on such a nice climb!!

Awesome climbing up at the gap with good views and a nice belay ledge next to a dead and useless tree. To get down bring two ropes to rappel or expect to either sacrifice some gear or bushwhack down. I picked three ticks out of my legs and my partner had the same so if you go put on a lot of tick repellent. All in all it is a nice climb to work out the kinks in your leading game.
