About Lake Vesuvius:

Lake Vesuvius is the recreational area for the Wayne National Forest. It's a large, 143 acre lake encircled by over 25 miles of hiking trails. Camping, picnicking, or fishing are available. Just a few hours drive from Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, Akron, Cleveland, Louisville, and Pittsburgh.
Nearest town or city: Ironton
Directions: South of Portsmouth, OH North of Huntington, WV Take US 52 turn North on 93 go approximately 4 mile then turn right onto cr-29 go approximately 1 mile. Park in parking area on left past dam.

Access Issues: Take trail past dam to the right. The first area is about a 5 min walk. Look accross lake to your left to see the next area another 5 min walk.
