About Bishop Cap Aka Pena Blanca:
This area is open 24-7 and is actually not in Texas. Thank GOD! However, it is very close to El Paso. Do not camp at the base of walls or boulders. Camping spots can be found near and at the crag. This is a 100% FREE crag to visit. This crag has a rich history of failure. Because Hueco Tanks is so close and so much better. It has been over-looked by many of the best. Lately with the acces problems at hueco, people have changed. This crag is very unique. Other climbing communities would die to have a crag like this. Most routes are very hard V4 and up. And many un-finished. |
Nearest town or city: | El Paso |
Directions: | Exit off I-10 on #151 by Vado, New Mexico just outside El Paso, Texas. Head to the southern end of the Organs mountains on the road going east. The crag is obvious from here. Pass a dump and continue on to the crag on the main road. |
