East Gate Boulders
About East Gate Boulders:
From the guidebook: "The East gate has always been the ignored little brother of the nearby Gate boudlers." This area is 100 yards East of the Gate Boulders. The undergrowth can be a pain. |
Approach: | Park at 1.1 on right (same parking as for The Swamp) walk across road and up small trail. You can also follow a faint train heading East from the gate Boulders for about 1-2 min. Look for a cluster of about 3 or 4 large boulders that form a small enclosure ("round room") accessed from the South side of the cluster. Most of the problems are here, but others are on nearby rocks in nearly every direction. On a recent visit we found that many of the problems hadn't been climbed in a while and will need to be cleaned again before climbing. There are, however, a few good exceptions, including Round Room -V6 which was clean, solid, and and incredible. |
