About Gillett Pond:

This area is mostly bouldering with the possibilty for some good top line routes. As far as i know im the only who has climbed or at least taken intrest in creating and area to climb at Gillett pond. There are many possibilities for problems but some cleaning and wire brushing are in order. theres is one large 20-25 foot wall that i have climbed and it has teh potential for soem good routes. There are many other bouldering spots that could work well. if any is interested in climbing here S suggest bringine a wire brush of some sort. I woudl be very grateful to anyone who would like to help me set up some bouldering problems. Feel free to e-mail me to volunteer and for any informatiopn: Brdrdude999@yahoo.com

Directions: Gillett pond is very close to the Bolton and Duxbury climbing spots. From the bottom of Bolton access road turn right down route 2 for 2.8 miles until you reach bridge that goes over the river on your left with a large rock wall onyour right. Cross the bridge and continue for .3 miles until you reach a road to your left that says Wes White hill, if you go over another river you've gone too far. Turn up this hill and go for about 2.5 miles, during whcih you shoudl go through a flat open area with a nice view. after the turn back into teh woods there will be a small waterfall to your left and a road to your right called durand road. pull off to the right side before durand road. on your left you shoudl see a small wooden bridge to walk across. From here on in there is a bit off a trail that soon dissapears just walk along this area lookingup for possible boulders or rock walls. the big one is about half way down. there are patches of fairly thick underbrush so come prepared. as always e-mail me for a tour brdrdude999@yahoo.com
