About Ambassador Buttress:
Named for Fayetteville's own Ambassador, an eccentric who claimed to have been the Ambassador General of Zimbabwe, this crag holds claim to being home to the New's first sport climb (though Begoon denies it), the Bolting Blowfish, a 5.12b creation of Eddie Begoon, Mike Artz, and Rick Thompson. Ambassador is a good change of pace, a collection of fine 5.10-11 routes, with stellar exceptions to that rule at either end of the scale. |
