Its inevitable, when on a climbing trip, I run into someone who drove like 20 hours from some God awful state like Florida to climb (recently 3 nice people at the Red River Gorge in Kentucky, from...well Florida.) This is a serious question. Why are you a climber? I mean, there's no real rock for such a long distance? Why not be a surfer, or a hang glider, a cyclist....I mean really. I was lucky enough to grow up right next to a climbing area. If I had not, I would probably be a cyclist/runner or something else? It just seems sensible to do what you have around you (competition kite flyer, wakeboarder, skater, whatever.) Cudos to all those who drive long ways to climb on real rock. -Danno
