I think you're thinking of petropods - those are the same poly bits as the rockpods, but pieces of actual rock in them.

Rockpods are synrock molded material in a polyurethane casing - they are like any other holds, with as many different possibilities available as he makes molds. In the picture, there are mostly rockpods with two petropods (this is from one of his recent ebay auctions).

For those of you who've never used synrock, its pretty nifty stuff - it's a ceramic, almost cement-like material, that feels pretty dang close to real sandstone - cool to the touch and grippy without being rough. It's also heavy as sin and brittle, like real stone, which is why putting it in a polyurethane casing is so nice - when you're cranking on the bolt to tighten it, the pressure is on flexible plastic, not brittle "rock".
