Home from surgery, under anaesthesia for about 1.5 hrs, I feel really good, but the local I'm sure is still dominating. I feel like crushing about a dozen beers. Doc pulled out a 1+ inch chunk of bone, kind of C-shaped. Lots of spurring, some of which was shaved down. No meniscus left in the medial compartment, but I expected that. Brain feels remarkably lucid, compared to the heavy anaesthesia of 32 yrs ago. Biggest complaint is the caffeine withdrawal headache, from not having coffee this morning. Not expecting a miracle, but it would be nice to go another 5-10 years of skiing, before the seemingly inevitable TKR.
