I think they just use normal, healthy chickens. I remember my mom getting chickens from a local farm, not raised in cages... the chickens were the size of small turkeys; it was really quite something. Give me a hollar if you want to get out touring Brian... I need more partners for it. Most of these rock/ice types don't bother with the inferior sport of skiing . I'm going to dinner with a friend I haven't seen in years on Wednesday. If we get done early enough CAthy and I will swing by and say hello. -JP

Vantage: Last Call Am I to take it that no one wants to come to Vantage this coming weekend?!? So far, Cathy, Sean and I are going... as well as possibly Kevin Annala from Banff. Anyone else??? It's going to be fantastic!! I'll bother you all some more at the pub tonight.

I have heard good things about Vantage

Does not make sense for me to drive down on my and pay for gas and have prospects of getting turned away at the border for not having a passport because some crossing guard is having a bad day....even though passports are not officially required yet. Besides, it's ice time. There's also an avalanche workshop on Saturday and the night of lies on Saturday night.

So I'm off to Chicago tomorrow but should be back about 7pm Wednesday. Provided the plane's not late I should be able to make 8-ish at the pub night. Somewhere with reasonable priced food please as I may be hungry.

First - how about a freeze down night at my place so people can discuss and plan for liemaking trips this winter, imbibe, and chat about shiney new gear. I'm thinking Friday 16th!!!!! Pot-luck, BBQ, and booze. Second - we head out the next morning and hit up something like THOS where we can get a social ramble going, take a couple of vehicles into the Ghost and let some of the folks here in this thread experience their new gear or rent gear and try a little ice. It's also good for returning veterans to get back into the swing of it. (intentional pun) BTW I've heard of people referring to ice freezing up but waterfalls freeze top down usually hence the name for the night.

Arterai Spurt is good to go and compared to other years fat. The route right now is almost rigged for 30m raps but the first step which only takes a few minutes. Lots of v-threads this year and a couple super bomber ones, someone had a lot of time and a lot of cord

Saturday: Temps depending Not sure what will be frozen in the ghost. THOS is a good guess, but it may be thin. I may be renting tools also A weekend later may be more consistent.

Where are we beering this wednesday? Grant wants cheap food. I vote mugs. Suggestions? Friday is no good for me this week. I am geeking out on Friday. And I am out of ice until the shoulder is 100%. Hammering an axe into ice is not a very shoulder friendly activity.

Mugs? I dunno... I need "Cheap" beer. Can't afford food, but hey! There's calories in beer right. Mugs? Nick's??? Nick's seems to get a good turnout.

Nicks is good for me as well. Good wings. So, is anybody reading this thread (ideally from Calgary) good with physics?

Are you looking for a tutor for someone or do you have a specific question? For a one off question, I can help with anything related to: - Dynamics & Statics - Heat transfer - Electrical stuff (to some extent). - Material mechanics

I may or may not need help. I'll know within a week or so whether I do or not. I think it would have to do with dynamics and statics but not 100% sure. Anyway, I will be at Nicks tomorrow @ 8:00 for the hockey game. Go Edmonton!

She was never super good with physics. Though really I might need somebody that can step back from being absolutely exact and help me find a good approximation.

I know what your saying. Why don't you post the problem here, I know I'll have some input.. and I'm sure The_Climber, Winter and perhaps a few other lurkers who know their physics will contribute.
