Say, have you ever noticed the 'beer' on the label?

I assume you mean teh bear. not a gud misspelling.

and, yes, it has antlers.
Huh....

I thought it was just a fat deer. On closer inspection it is obvious it is indeed a beer.

Get it?

Oh wait I guess not.

sorry,
Nate

OK... I'll admit I didn't get it... but I see everything upside down!

more excuse than me ... I'd been wondering for yearz why they had a bear with antlers.

My mom just found out that someone stole her debit card information from a gas station in Iowa we stopped at. Someone bought $500 worth a perfume on her dime.

Does anyone know if she's protected by the bank like a credit card, or is she SOL because she used it as debit?

On the phone with my bank requesting a new card now, just in case.

That happened to me using my wells fargo debit card at an arco. They gave me a "loan" of the money initially within about 3 days, and when their investigation completed and they found they charges were fraudulent, the loan became an official reimbursement. Up until that time (about 3 months) they could take the loan back at any point if they decided I had spent that money.

I use Wells also and have received similar treatment. When I was in Laos they had a whole town full of fraudulent ATMs. Basically they told you they were out of order after putting your pin and amount in and then charged you for that amount without giving you money. Did it to everyone in town. After about a week Wells closed my investigation saying there wasn't enough evidence. I had to raise hell to get them to open it again and then it took a month or two before they finally came to the conclusion that I was ripped off. Of course, I'm sure they didn't do anything about the ATMs in Laos that can access peoples checking accounts.

That sucks, and no, she's not protected like a credit card. I'd still fight, but it's an uphill battle on this one.

Talked to dad, she got covered...the online vendor didn't even ship the product yet because the shipping address was so different from the card origins that they were taking time to verify it.

Oh, I didn't realize it wasn't a POS transaction. That was fucking retarded... they ordered something via mail? So, did you give the cops the address that it was shipped to?

seems like she may be dealing with some fucking amateurs.

haha, yeah! Was there a name on the delivery? Hopefully they were dumb enough to use their own instead of yours.

I had something similar happen to a friend and as I recall they did use their real names and the cops and card company still didn't pursue it, they just canceled the transaction. Such small amounts weren't worth their time. It's fucking neglect. By pursuing these cases, even if it costs more money to prosecute than the transaction costs, they help prevent it in the future. These thieves keep doing it because they know they won't come after them.

economics may not be teh cops' strong point.

Speaking of gnartards, my apartment building smells strongly of cheeba right now.
I have nothing against the use of said substances, and cannot confirm or deny previous usage, but there is also a state cop who visits family in my building on a regular basis.
