No Jeff, there is No Babysitting Available! at VE Monday night...

If you decide to bring your kids Les, and Anne would agree to "keep an eye on" Alyssa for a few minutes, we could probably get a few climbs in...

I will probably end up spending quite a bit of my time in the bouldering areas ('cus its easier in there for ME to do some stuff too with the kids around).

AND yes, VE is in the process of installing 5 new auto-belays and resurfacing some walls; most notably, the "begginer" wall (between the fire door and overhanging/lieback corner). They are also in the process of putting up NEW routes all over the gym. Lots of new fun people!

I think I'll see ya Monday!

Hi everyone,

Haven't talked to you in a while, been too busy with school and a few other things, but now that I have a nice long break, I might have to get out to VE and climb with all of you again.

I can't go Monday, but hopefully I can make it out there sometime soon.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas...

If anyone is interested, I'm taking the girls up to VE for a while tonight (hoping Louis and his kids show up).

We'll be there sometime between 4 & 6pm so come on up if you can...

I had it all planned to go there tonight, but then the sewer backs up at home and my wife decides to go shopping while I snake out the sewer. What a pain. Lately I am either working late or something comes up. I am going to try and get there Friday 12/27 this week. See you there if you can make it.

Well, I hope knowone went to VE expecting to see me there...

I did actually get there, just didn't make it into the building... Alyssa threw me an attitude in the parking lot so, I decided it'd be best if we just went back home.

Ahhhh, life with children... Isn't it beautiful! I guess we'll try again Friday afternoon/evening.

I'll be there on Monday night. But just a heads up - I was at VE yesterday, and approx. 1/3 of the place (as well as the upstairs bouldering cave) was closed off due to the remodeling that's going on. Because of the limited space, the place was a zoo. Just a heads up - hopefully they will finish the renovations soon!

I'll be there, not sure if I'll have kids in tow or not, depends on if Dann brings his.

I was hoping they would have the remodling done by Mon. btw, last mon they had both bouldering caves closed untill like after 5:00 then they opened them back up.

All of you who are members should let the managment know that its good to upgrade but maybe they should stop having groups durring the remodel, it seems like a no brainer but I saw they had a group last Mon. I also think they should reduce the price for daily climbers.

Man, if only I could have planned a month in advance for that Les!!!

I'm packing the kids up and bringing them home Sunday afternoon... Kinda bittersweet for me. I love them so much that when I'm not with them, I wish I was. After 10 solid days with them, there are moments that I think that it'll be nice to have a break from them for a couple days. I'll go back to work Sunday night and home in the morning like ussuall and wake up Monday afternoon and MISS them terribly!

Kali got a bit upset at bedtime tonight 'cus she misses her mom. I told her, "well, tomorrow you'll get to see her again and you won't see daddy 'til Tuesday. What do you think, is that good or bad?" She cried harder and said "BAD!!!"

We've had a great holiday together!

Anyway, VE Monday night. Yes, I'll be there but without the girls. I took them up there Friday night and the gym was FULLY Open... Only 1 of the new auto belays was open (and 1 installed but not open; both of them are by the bathrooms) however and I could not see where the other 3 will be installed, so, they obviously still have work to do.

The newly resurfaced wall is also up (but needs real routes set). It is very cool looking but smearing on it is HEINOUS! (as pelliott and I learned). It seams like it has some good texture on it and has lots of naturals that you can edge and toe on but a flat sole skates off very easily. It may be still the "Begginer Wall" because it had a LOT of holds and just a couple marked routes (which sucked). Kali had a blast on it.

It was very nice there last night. There wasn't too many people there. They did have one group in there but they were gone be 8pm and then there was knowone in there.

Anyway, I'll be there about 4pm so, come on out gang!

I don't know Les, you're makin' me wanna go out in the snow and PLAaaayyy!

Which actually makes me kinda nervous... I grew up on skis but I haven't been skiing now for at least 5 years... And never really been snowboarding...

How hard can it be though? If I kill myself, will you do my ulogy and tell everyone that I really "just wanted to have some fun"? I bet they'd all laugh after I've been doing all this rock climbing and killed myself on a snowboard...

I'm going now to check out all the MN ski area's web pages...
