core wrote: Here's some background info on that pic... That's pretty sweet Core. I think I'm heading up that way later this week with a buddy of mine who just got laid off from work. He's supposed to scout stuff out early in the week. I hope he's not taking his new vacation seriously. He's got work to do! I'm looking forward to getting up there for the first time ever. Can't wait, and your pics make it look as if it is worth it.

Thanks for writing up the climb, Cory. Nice job. I definitely enjoyed that offwidth. What's a 35 foot runout matter if you're securely wedged in a crack? GO

Jake, I feel your pain. I would go and try to help you through the ordeal. However I will be busy on patrol at Crow Hill trying to stop the motorcycle gangs from leaving too many beer cans, at least we got them to bring cans and not bottles, at the base of the cliffs and the teen age punks from trundling too many rocks off the top.

Jake, how can you possible have so many 3 day weekends to go climbing? Are you just pretending to be employed?

I am unfortunately not employed.. and i have not been away to climb since the rumney ruckus that was the middle of june.. luckily then i did 8 days of rumney in the month of june so that held me over for a bit.. but i'm feeling good and want to get on an ongoing project that is damn close to falling and to start some new ones to get psyched about. hoping to change the job thing one of these days. as much free time as i have.. others don't so it's pretty boring

Sorry for the late notice, but I'll be setting up a toprope or two tomorrow at the quarries with a relative noob. I'll probably be arriving around 9:45 or 10, and I drive a big yellow jeep. Will most likely do a line or two on K-wall and then a little instruction on building gear anchors above M-wall, nothing above 5.8/5.9. happy trails, alex

Good times At CR with a whole boatload of people (Carlos, Lauren, Brooke, Sophia, Michel, Slawa, Dave Marcie, Mike, and others). I wound up acting as a guide, being about the only local there with extensive knowledge of the crag. Carlos, I'll post up when I head out there next week. Jason, if we don't hook up this weekend, wanna try for Farley next weekend?

Just got this from Grant (thank you!)... further evidence that Farley is just not worth mention on any list. (I know, I should figure out how to embed, but I just can't).

Jen , for real. I'm planning on heading back out to farley the end of next week to see if I can't find something worth the trip. BTW, general FYI I'm heading back to CR tonight, for a short session, 5 to 7 pm about. EDIT: the short session has turned into a possible "closer". Where's my headlanmp?

Jen, You traitor, how could you? I thought we had an understanding--every kid with a can of paint in Quincy is going to be heading this way after seeing that picture of pristine rock! All kidding aside, nice job on leading that route--it's really not a gimme. The peregrine closure just ended, so a whole section of cliff has just reopened, plus a bunch of new routes have just been re-bolted or established, so come visit again if you get the chance. Grant

Grant, the paint-can brigade would hate the approach. ;-) FYI if you're around and available, weather cooperating, I'm planning on heading out next thursday, camping over and climbing friday and maybe part of saturday too. Jake, I've been working that contrived crimpy face climb on the "Steeple" down by "Exercize..." my fingers are shredded! I'm thinkin' that thing is .9+/.10- up near the top where the feet get real thin, and the balance is awkward. after multiple goes, I went to work the traverse, and my finger pads hurt so bad I bailed off before the overhang...they feel like i've been rubbing them on 80-grit sandpaper all night. Carlos, I went to REI today and bought a new headlamp... found it! ;-)

Probably check out that pile choss in Erving again this weekend. Funny you all should mention it. Anyone know where I can recycle a used canister from a backpacking stove?

Anyone free for Rumney early this week? I'm pretty mad at the forecasting for this weekend that caused us to bail but might not have caused as much trouble as we thought. Also i'm looking for a partner for next weekend.. I'm hoping to meet up with Mo (biner96) on monday when she gets back from Canada but would like to make a weekend of it. new shoes for steep shit.. must.. find.. shist.. besides i'm one move away from finishing a hard project and am afraid i'll forget the beta BEC and i worked out. oh and there maybe whip potential on something else i wanna try ;) falling!!
