sooo... I haven't been on rc.com in a little bit, this new format is confusing at best.

but i'll either be coming from the eastcoast(by car) or vail area (also by car) so if anyone wants a ride from montrose or to carpool from somewhere let me know :)

The qualifying rounds for the Mixed/Difficulty competition will be on Wednesday January 10 and Thursday January 11, anyone wishing to be in the Mixed/Difficulty final on Saturday January 13 will need to qualify so this should be an action-packed event, don't miss this!

So I've decided to scrap the Telluride winter, I'll be driving/flying out there sometime in early January hopefully with my brother to do some skiing and obviously much ice climbing. Anyone have a lead on accomodations and need one or two guys to share costs?

For those who are flying into Montrose and needed a ride:

Get your airfare tickets ASAP... like today. And PM me with your flight info. I'd like to make as few trips as possible, so if'n y'all could manage to arrive roughly the same time, it'll be mucho-helpful.

FYI, there is a flight arriving Thursday, from Denver, around 4:30pm. That's a good time to arrive, as it allows me the chance to climb that day, come get y'all from the airport, and still get back in time for dinner.

I'll be arriving into Ouray Tuesday evening so if anyone is coming into Montrose that night, I can probably do the pickup.

So it looks like I will be headed out that way for the Ice fest.Smile Any one have a line on a place to stay? I was thinking about just staying in tha back of the truck, but the Mrs. seems to prefer the idea of a place that has running water... I look forward to seeing some of you again and meeting a whole lot of others!!!

Hi all,

I'm making the drive out again this year! If you need a ride out to the fest from Michigan or somewhere along the way, let me know We've got room for 2. We're leaving from Michigan on the 5th and returning to Michigan on the 15th. We plan to drive around the clock with an overnight stop with some friends in Denver. Promises to be a good time!

Let me know,
Lisa

Lisa, where ya stayin? I've currently got a king bedroom in the best western all to myself (unless my brother comes along). I'm definitely looking to stay with someone else and/or have some folks split my room. I've reserved from Friday the 5th til Friday the 12th, that's subject to change of course. I'm thinking the most likely dates of my stay will more likely be from monday through saturday nights. It depends on if my bro comes along, we're trying to do some snowboarding for a few days before the ice. I'm also planning on driving out (from NC) if anyone needs a ride.

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the invite. I've actually got a full house about a mile outside of town. However, if I find someone to car pool with us, I wont have room for them. I can let them know you've got hotel space if you'd like.

Let me know,
Lisa

Awesome, Lisa! Yeah, if you hear about anyone who needs a place to crash, send them my way!

On another note, anyone driving out to Ouray from Denver and lookin for someone to split gas with? I'm totally flexible on the dates, hoping to get out there early in the week. Flights into denver are obviously way cheaper than into montrose! Lemme know if you're drivin from the Denver area and want company!

anykine, any chance you have room for two? The likelihood is slim that he'll be coming, but just thought I'd check.

Anyone driving from Ouray past the Montrose airport on Monday evening, Jan 15? Looking to climb all day, then get a ride or take a taxi (shudder) up to the airport and stay at a hotel overnight for an early morning flight out. Will absolutely pay for gas.

Also potentially looking for a partner for the Monday. New ice leader, follow NE4-5, belay whatever.
