At City of Rocks, there is a place with best beef I have ever tasted. I think it may be the only restraunt in town, so I never learned it's name. They also have pies to die for including the best banana pudding pie in the world. It's rare I come back a fatter woman from a climbing trip. Of course Miguel's but there is also a boiled peanut stand at RRG on the side of the street. YUM. While the owners look a bit southern-ish (if you get my drift) but I'm Asian, and they didn't shoot me or anything, so they are safe :)

Well, I'm super poor these days, so my initial response is Lipton Rice and a can of chicken. However, because I haven't always been poor: Gunks - that place with the large list of beers with the funky name. Rumney - Common Man, though I have to admit that I do like the place on the corner at the blinking light (Mountain something?) Cannon - Tilt'n Diner North Conway - Muddy Moose (I've become sick twice at the Moat, so I may not go there again despite it's popularity) Acadia - Rosalies Pizza (guaranteed to kick all you Miguel's fans off the wagon) or Cubanas if you're feeling wealthy. The Whale has also come a long way and offers the best pub food in town. Red Rocks - Ronald's Donuts

Pete's Eats, Llanberis, North Wales, UK. Great food at reasonable prices, with a good atmosphere. Plenty of excellent climbing photos on the walls, from local to world-wide. Its worth the trip to Wales just for this place, but the climbing is beyond belief, with routes in all grades and all styles. There are 25ft high boulders on the edge of the road, through sport limestone to mountain trad, amazing slate, stunning sea cliff routes, and everything else you could ever want. Thousands of routes, all within about 35 miles. DMM are based very close to here. Ad for the area ended.

I second qautros in so ill There's a lot of good small pizza spots in Marion down there, too Monks for bar and grill (great huge burgers) just south of the Dells for food round Devil's Lake, WI. Any awesome food/climber spots around rushmore? Where should I stop in at round rapid city, keystone, and cathedral spires?

Micro Brasserie de Chamonix, Chamonix, France. Hands down. I can't stand Pizza Factory (Bishop). De gustibus non est disputandem. Crossroads (Josh) is good for the food; but I find all the drama a bit hard to take. Second Mexicali (Gunks) Second Moat Mountain (NH) Ed's or Nepals in Estes Park Whitney Portal Store All I can think of right now... Brian

Yeah, it's touristy, but it's also big and thus doesn't have a long wait line. Maybe I'll try the mex place next time. Name? Direction from the Moose (toward River Road or toward the outlets)?

And I disagree, Guilded Otter in New Paltz is much better, and cheaper too!

SLC----Gotta be Lonestar. My god, a day in the Wasatch just ain't complete without a fish taco from lonestar!!!! N. Conway---Moat is great, for shure..... Plymouth (aka Rumney)--- gotta love the diner (forgot the name) between plymouth and rumney.....you know, the diner, on the road, on the way.... THE BEST for waiting out those fall mornings when you were stoked about getting up early and climbing hard all day....then you realized it is WAY TOO COLD this early and all you want is pancakes and coffee and the sun to work its magic......mmm, pancakes......
