I'm glad you asked: I'd like a refrigerated camel bak that doesn't get my beer all frothy when I suck it through the tube, please.

Soon it would be a mess of useless drivel and most would either leave, or start their own little sub-community, where all they talk about are strippers and beer. I guess I’ll just take a cam with 5 lobes. shut up asshat.

A bouldering pad that inflated with CO2 tanks, that when landed on ,deflated at a rate related the force applied to them. It would be easily packable. Similar to stunt pads/bags but a lot smaller. Add a sort of gyzmo to it to allow it to be used to sit on, sleep on and even to the wiggle on.

I want a miracle fabric to finally dispense with the bother of layering and keeping a closet full of clothing. I want a suit that fits like a second skin, keeps me dry in the wet, warm in the cold, cool in the heat, stretches and breathes like cotton, and is incredibly comfortable and classically stylish. No need to own a single other garment for the outdoors, no matter WHAT the conditions! The thing is, in 20 years I could believe that we might actually have such a fabric.....

How bout' a small electric winch designed for hauling that just clips into the anchors and hauls the pig as you sit back and relax....heck I'd even settle for a mechanical version that's geared like 20:1...kinda like a winch on a boat trailer.....just think you could haul that pig with yer pinky finger! .....ahh the things we come up with during the countless hours spent on a wall cheers

How about a Ghetto Blaster jamming device. When the college crowd shows up - just flip the swtich and continue bouldering peacefully...

the ultimate in wide crack pro - take a big bro and put half a cam on either side, so its an adjustable width tube with two cam lobes touching either side. the range of a bro, and the versatality of a big cam all at once!! and the authentic flavor of offwidthing since it would be too sketchy

At the Ouray ice fest Steve House gave a presentation about the gear he takes on fast and light alpine climbs. The problem was that all of the cool stuff was either custom made or he made it himself. This gear has already been invented, now there just needs to be a company with the balls to make it available to everyone.

Acid/corrosion resistant rope/webbing. Rope / webbing that changes color with age/use such that it shows the current strength of the rope (so you know exactly when to retire it). A reliable and portable water condenser that can generate around a liter of water per hour by condensing moisture out of the air, with a battery life (assuming it would use batteries) of many days. Clean protection (of one or several designs) that can replace pitons in every possible circumstance. Portable, automatic, full body airbags. An "anti-hypothermia pill" that would affect your metabolism in such a way that you would burn through all your body fat through extreme shivering (even while sleeping) before succumbing to hypothermia. A variant of the above: an anti-frostbite pill which would prevent your body from selectively shutting down circulation to extremities unless you were actually in serious risk of hypothermia.

In reply to: AngusBeefheart wrote:gravity balls little ultra dense orbs that warp space-time creating their own gravitational field which adheres them to the rock for you to clip into. When you're done just push a button and they switch off pop off the rock. I guess what i'm saying is, removable bolts Yvon Chouinard actually invented these years ago. These balls were 75X lighter than helium when turned on. They were the size of a golf ball. Then, one climber got the bright idea of cramming one up his ass to help him send. It ended up lodged in his brain because of the immense upward force involved. He was permanently retarded from the ordeal. Yvon scrapped the project shortly after this. The victim went on to invent bouldering. Sure the victim didn't go into politics?
