Not that I recommend my previous post, it's just a fact. When i am setting up a top rope anchor i make three three equalized anchor. I do this with a mix of pro and trees tied together with gobs of webbing. Then once it is equalized over the route I finish 'er off with a pair of opposite and opposing locking biners. That is just what i do. Good Luck and be safe.

simplify, just go out and splurge on some webbing or long cordelettes, it'll make things easier.
