scenario:
(200 years ago)
a bunch of mid-twenties Native American Indians standing around that same boulder thinking just about the same things you are. They got a bunch of nice tools and theese guys are ripped, and they really like a challenge. They get the idea to start chipping away and send that boulder, but they cannot all agree on how the problem goes, so they chip a jug ladder up it, they all send it, then they cant live with themselves because they destroyed the beautiful stone and made it too easy. The chief is pissed and he and the rest of the village put a nasty curse on the young boys and they live the rest of thier adult lives in shame.

Hell ya now we are chipping our own routes on blank faces. Damn why not go bolt a crack. Hell lets bolt them all. Bolt all the cracks. yea bolts, with a bolt gun. Maybe Socal bolter will help.
