Hey buckets..

Do you want to go to the ngu crag this weekned?
I do. Sunday
Do you think you could handle it?

Its a long day.
I handled it fine when we went ice climbing 3 hours away for one day. This might be a bit different though. I have a feeling I will spend most of the day taking pictures and in that case it may not be worth the long day. What time are you leaving?

We normally leave here about 6am.

I guess the bigger question is can you keep yer mouth shut if you do go there?
Who am I gonna tell? I will just take pictures, draw a map and post it all over that other site instead ;p
I'll be ready just tell me what time. Call me sometime today. We are in the falls at 6 for hockey but home all day.
How am I supposed to know who you will tell? You claim to be climbing so you would obviously tell whoever you are climbing with, then they will blab. Before you know it everyone will know about it.

Okay here is the deal. We will meet you at 6:30. We will take your car as it has a much bigger trunk and you will be more comfortable for the ride.

I liked Troy (and own it). Though it is true that the title could be changed to "Brad Pitt Shitz Pantz in RoidRage."

You know what a REALLY bad movie is? We just netflixed "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" last night. I remember thinking it was just awesome when it first came out and I was in middle school, but it was just pure campy cheese.

Alan Rickman as the sheriff is AWESOME, though.
I really hope klawzti owns it and it is just yours cuz you are married.

ANything else would just be homo

You are correct. But it was still quite a shock to see ANY buildings on the top of what everyone had been spraying about as one of the toughest winter destinations around here. FWIW I really enjoy the area in the winter, but the only time I have been back to the top of that one is on a traverse of the presidentials.

And, the weather certainly is serious, I was getting blown 4 or 5 feet while wearing a heavy 6 day pack at the summit one time. And I am not light, although I probably have a good amount of surface area.

It seems like most of the people getting trouble are getting lost, that is ridiculous in an area that size and with such easy landmarks. Getting washed off of a slab and (glad this didn't happen to you) hurting something is a world away from not being able to walk down the correct side of a hill.

So, essentially, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Why? I need to go to the summit of that peak more than twice in the winter? Because of my original hyperbole? Or because I conceded to the common idea that the weather is serious? At any rate is an enjoyable easy-access winter area.

No, I was laughing at how you said you didn't like the place but you still like it.

You're from Mass, though, so I expect your train of thought to take a little longer in leaving the station.

I see, I never said that I didn't like it. Just that it was a joke the way many people regard it. It is a nice enough area in general and the whole region has impressed me more than I thought it would. I guess having low standards and sucking at climbing helps with that though.
there are some fun ice routes in the ravine. granted its not hard, but whatever.

Korekt.

Low angle+beautiful relaxing area=good fun

Went to Montreal yesterday and it was absolutely fabulous. Really kicking myself for not getting up there while i lived here, it's so close and its like going to Europe for the day, especially in the old city where I had dinner at this crazy place with two awesome old grandma grandpa folks as the hosts. Driving there, however, is like taking your life into your hands and handing it to a crazy frenchman...if i do go back before I leave, I'm parking in the suburbs and taking a train in.

Day is just starting now with a fire going, coffee in hand...trying to decide which one of the "Things to do before I leave VT" will get done today.

And I am making cookies, my thighs be damned.

We've only drive through Montreal with a detour to the MEC a couple of times. It wasn't too bad, but they are pretty aggressive drivers. It's always a fight to get through traffic on the highway as well.

Quebec city seems more interesting to me though (but pretty much everyone speaks English in Montreal, and that makes things a lot easier)

You driving to CO? Which way are you going? You could stop by for a visit!
