After all is said and done he wouldn't end up making any money off of it. I know some of the gear he's ordered in for me he hasn't made a penny at the end of the day, but if I'm ordering something in it typically is somethign noone else can get in (or will go to the effort to get), and I tend to spray about gear when it turns out to be kick ass. Which can be pretty good word of mouth adverts for him. Hopefully some of the gear I ordered will be in soon, if I get down there this week I'll ask him about the glue-ins. Drop Binrat a line and see when he's coming out west again. We could look into if there would be any cost savings with getting them ordered, me picking them up and Binrat driving them back to Ontario. Just a thought. I'm going to MN next month and I could just have them shipped to my mom's. The shops here suck, there is MEC and um a new MEC coming in the future. I guess there is a place in Waterloo, but I don't know if they would order. There is no place close. They are all more than an hour. I ordered some from Fixe. Hopefully they show up before I get to MN and they don't fuck up my order. Their website is nearly 100% jacked. Lots of fucked up info and links.

At the rate I'm going now I won't have it done before next winter. I need to go take a look and see if anything has fallen down since the spring thaw.

New better job may be on it's way. Interview is sounding more and more like a formality than anything else. So, if I get this new Jorb I'll have: The same benefits At least the same base salary (likely more) Extra pay while in the field, including expences, lodging, ect. plus per deim (sp?) 2 weeks in the field 2 weeks out (might be 2 in 1 out, I'll ahve to ask at the meeting/interview) Will be getting paid to ride around on Argo's, Quads, Swamp Buggy type things with big ass tracks, and drve to and from areas in 4x4's And will be doing a bunch of geophysical/geological Surveys

the_climber wrote: New better job may be on it's way. Interview is sounding more and more like a formality than anything else. So, if I get this new Jorb I'll have: The same benefits At least the same base salary (likely more) Extra pay while in the field, including expences, lodging, ect. plus per deim (sp?) 2 weeks in the field 2 weeks out (might be 2 in 1 out, I'll ahve to ask at the meeting/interview) Will be getting paid to ride around on Argo's, Quads, Swamp Buggy type things with big ass tracks, and drve to and from areas in 4x4's And will be doing a bunch of geophysical/geological Surveys w00t!!! That sounds awesome, dude! But now what will you talk about in the coffee threadz? :P Best of luck on getting that, BTW, looks like one that would be killing to miss.

Clarify, please. [image]http://lh4.ggpht.com/WanderlustMD/SIz1rgtR7cI/AAAAAAAAAuU/svi6OgPVUC0/020.JPG?imgmax=512[/image] If you need more clarification look at the first bolt and the biner attached to it. ...if he were to fall on that the rubber would break and the whole thing would fall apart!!! Everybody panic!!! QDs aren't as strong placed that way!!! For f u c K i n g real? Um.. They unclip from the bolt quite easily like that. FWIW, that's not me leading. I don't have QDs, only adjustable trad draws. What makes it so easy to unclip? Because instead of the QD moving around on the biner the biner ends up moving around on the bolt more. The shorter and stiffer the draw the more dangerous it is. IC. Good to know, thanks. Raining here now, and the forecase for the next three days is equally schitty. Fack. Win some, lose some. Send beer money, please. if you hadn't spent so much money on gas you'd have beer money! I bet he is less inclined to drive all over now that gas is well over $5 a gallon where he is. Well he's a donny, they have to learn the hard way.
