I think we've decided to just head up North this weekend instead of a longer drive to places with questionable weather or we don't know the beta for. Nathan's sick, so that might 'cause us yet another change, but we were thinking of taking his truck ('cause there will be no campsite avalible) and taking our mountain bikes and maybe biking for a day/half a day.

What are you doing this weekend, Kelly? I think we might be trying to climb at Baldy/Metcalf for a day or two.
You gave nathan your sickness eh. Have plans for Sat and Sun. Nothing yet for Monday. was hoping to climb at kelso so brent could bike at the same time. You climbing Monday up there or heading home?

I agree, once a week jaunts to the glen are in order.
That sucks.

You did a good job negotiating for your boss. You work fewer days get paid less and put in more hours.

No its just called catch up after 2 weeks off. At least I know I am indispensable! Cool
Then why did you take a paycut?

If you do the same amount of work in 4 days instead of 5 you should still get paid the same.
Because it was worth having the extra day off.

No it wasn't sucky. But I have to admit I was a little resentful that I was in this amazing spot where an untouched cliff was beckoning and I had a bunch of blortos with me who don't climb.
I did have the bunch of them (12 of us went) scouting out rock when they were off on various hikes and bike runs. Not that it did me any good.
Worthless without pics.
I have a cpl pics from the top but you can't see the cliff.

The one I'm on right now will. I couldn't remember the paste code though to try it yesterday.

The one I'm on now doesn't have a scroll wheel. It also wants to choke on this website.

I guess I can't bitch to much though. At least I can burn time on the intardnet while my dad gets sliced and diced.
Not having a scroll wheelpad really sucks.

What in the hell is a scroll pad?
that little section along the right hand margin of my mouse pad that converts scroll gestures into scrolling up or down the page.

handy.
I had that on my laptop Frown Key word HAD.
The company paid $2,000 for my 2.5 pound laptop for travel and insurance is telling me I can replace it for a whole $799. bull shit I told them.
Doesn't the company have insurance on it?
Nope. Besides it was in my house so my insurance covers it. I am fighting with the insurance company and I will win.
The insurance company always wins. Thats how they stay in bidness.
I always win. just ask Bruce

I've had a great time in Squamish. Long routes, short routes, bouldering. I'm sharing a tent sight with a Slovenian guy who climbs 8b+, he's been refining my technique and I've been teaching him how to trad climb. It's been great meeting other climbers.

Nearly onsighted my first .11 on gear. Monday is the last day, I really hope I send it. I could stay here for a few more weeks, easy!

Pix to come.
So why not stay?

I'm sure you could persuade the Slovenian guy to stay.

I didn't think your gate swung that way though.

Friends are coming to the valley to climb and asked if I'd come. It's one of those things that I can't miss...you know how it is. They are good friends.

As far as the gate thing goes....I don't have a snappy response right now.
If they were that good of freinds they wouldn't be dragging you away from a primo area to climb in a sweat box.

haha, they aren't. But with them coming out to climb and me in the general area on a road trip...I can't not show up. They were excited when I left and want to see how it's going.

Whatever, you can't go wrong either way...beatz the hell out of a job!

just because yore on the west coast of north america does not mean your in the general area.

So I have it on good authority that Grant is Alive and OK after Epic-ing on Bugaboo Spire.

Grant, Paul (who you met last summer at Lake Louise), and 2 others went to the Bugaboos this week. They got back around midnight last night. I've advised both of them that there are better way of making it into the papers:

http://bc.rcmp.ca/...rue&languageId=1

Grant will do anything for a little ice.
I think even this time he was cursing the ice.

By the sounds of it they were literally plucked off the mountain via long line in th ONLY window of opportunity to do so, which was quite a small opportunity. They were pretty much told straight out that if they hadn't been able to have flown them off when they did, there wouldn't have been another weather window for days. Hearing the conditions they were in, I'm not sure if Grant would have made it another night. He seems to think so, but based on my experiences with hypothermia I'm not so sure. As far as a ground crew goes... well they had close to 100 people on stand by, but the fact of the matter is the conditions we bad enough that "maybe" a crew could have gotten "close" to their location. Maybe within a 150-200m, but that's about it.

They've officially joined the Epic Club.

I'm just glad those 2 are still alive.
Yes, better to have survived and Epic, that to be the target in a body recovery operation, this is certain.

Glad they got lucky, after having a rather unlucky moment or two. It'll give 'em stories to tell for the rest of their lives, hope they're grateful enough for the opportunities to tell them that they feel free to share them with the rest of us drunken fools. Smile

Yes

I think

Headed up to new hampshire for the weekend.
I hate you and I hope it rained the whole time!!

How was it?
Someone must have had a sucky fam. vay kay.

Worthless.

There it is. WMD is currently on his way south to Touloumne Meadows. Hopefully some of you can hook up with him to climb.
Nice TR. Its good to see that WMD is finally getting some climbing in between his driving.

It really is to bad he didn't come climb with us while he was in Canada.

Yall are on the rong side of Canada.
This winter we should arrange something.
Your buddies being on the wrong side of the west coast didn't slow you down.

Crashed into it?

Do you have photo proof? We know how your family likes to embellish.

Not crashed into it, but was riding up front, came around a corner and the moose was standing on the path. The noise scared him so he walked into the bush.
Brents buddy took a shitty picture of it. No embellishment here.
You did say he ran in onot it. Stop back pedaling.

So Brent walked into a bush cause he was scared?

Chossy asked for proof so I will bore you with the family vaca pics.

Ribs. Mmmmm...

How do you know Adam (from genesis) wasn't black?

Ever try taking a Rib away from a black man?

(and donny.... before you reply, there is a huge difference between giving a rimjob and taking a rib away. Trying to limit the confusion there.
