Who else put detergent on their slip and slide?

I dunno. My parents could only afford that cheap black plastic you use for painting projects. We only used a hose and more often than not the plastic - being black - was super hot regardless of how much water we put on it. It was good until about the 5th or 6th slide when it would tear and we'd have a rock go through our chest - living in the desert isn't really conducive for lawns. We had one, but it was thin and brown most of the time.

My pool involved a 1/4 mile walk to a pond. This pond had multiple vehicles - cars, jeeps, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, and a school bus - in it. I didn't swim much there. No one in my subdivision of 250 houses had a pool. If you could call it a pool, it was more than likely a horse trough, or one of those 10" deep plastic thingys.
I started swimming competively at the age of nine.
Swimming pools have never seemed fun to me.
Oh, you were one of those kids who had to get up and to the pool by 6 before school to train?
Yes I had to get up by 5am, I had chores to do first.
Than training in the morning and after school also.
AAU swimming works you pretty hard.

That's impressive for a nine year-old kid.

spent my fair share of time in those as a kid. It was my job to make sure they were always full, so I made sure to enjoy my work from time to time.

'course, there was always the pool I'd make myself when I dammed up the creek flowing through the front 40. No diving allowed, and that water was COLD!

When there was water to be had it was nice. The best pond around, though, was a 2 mile bike ride. It was fed by a wonderful cool spring. The water was clean enough that a few goldfish that were released into the pond lived for years. That place I miss. The other one, not so much.
Well, i DID grow up in the Pacific Northwest, where many of those born there develop webbed feet in the early years of their life. Luckily I was born in Kansas i guess, but an even larger stroke of luck was not having to grow up there. This was impressed upon us chillins during our early teen years, during the family vacation one summer in the mid-80's. TFG!

Damn, Kansas huh?

That would have made it hard to get into climbing.
i dintz get into climbing till the end of my first "career".

Have you seen Kansas? ATV's and shootz gunz, thats about all there is to do there. Oh, an maybez some fishin' from time to time, after the livestock are fed and milked and fed again.

SOOOO lucky i dint grow up on that milk-farm.

maybe you could have been a tornado chaser!
I still like to chase the skirt from time to time. Same thing, really.

Yeah, I'm picking up on that.

Guess I'll just have to be happy with being jealous of L'Habitant's rich kids pool.
When I was a kid, living in a middle class neighbourhood, there were only 2 families with pools. I remember having to be really nice to those kids to get an invite into their pool. So, I decided that when I had kids, as soon as the bank would give me money, they were getting a pool. I didn't want them to have to grovel like I did just to keep cool.

We have a pool.
We aren't rich.
You can all come swimming.
An above ground pool?

You do go do target practice while out climbing.

Yes, above ground.
I do target practice after climbing far away from the crag no one knows about. I pick up teh shell casings and teh targetz 2.

Camden isn't bad...but Acadia is the Maine (get it?) place for climbing in Maine. I've never been there!

My statement wasn't entirely accurate, as when it comes to climbing, NH and Maine are the same state in my mind, since I do all my climbing in NH.

The crag near my house is pretty good granite, though. Granite is great.

Steep granite.

Good granite two. None of the decomposing shit that you find elsewhere. This granite is damn good granite. It's not High Sierra or Yosemite granite, but real close to that.

Hmm... do I hear the forethinking of a road trip?

Amen.
How do you find the grades in comparison to the valley?

Since the rock type is so close, I was wondering how it stands up. You'd think it would be similar, but I have heard people say NH is stiffer and vice versa.

Depends on what climb you are on.

Well, I can see you failed math.

That would be a multiplication problem. Not addition. And it still doesn't equal a hip.

It's possible, but I don't think you were a bitch to them. Just out of it. The nurse in ER just said you were "combative"

heh.
storytime!
She is a pretty bad patient. It gets worse when they give her morphine. I think that was when she was combative. She also likes to pull out tubes.

We don't like it when people try to pull out tubes, mostly because it can be bad for the orifice that the tube is shoved in.
What about your pee hole?
Yeah there is an inflated balloon on the end of that tube that is about an inch around. If you want to pull on that, go right ahead.
This is correct, even with the balloon deflated it is an extremely painful procedure.
Even on Morphine.
Thankfully I was unconscious when the catheter was installed.
Yeah, I had one too once. It hurt coming out.

You don't need to be a hunter to hunt. Just like you don't need to be a climber to climb. Deer meat is awesome. And really cheap if you can hunt near where you live and process it yourself.

Deer meat is pretty good. I've only had it once.
Lately I've had a bit of an ethical dilemma about eating meat. I don't have the cajones to shoot an animal myself, so why do I knott have a problem eating meat.

I'm not going to become a vegan or anything, but it's a weird thing.

Do you live on a farm?

No, just doing stuff around the house (like the windows)

Today was wash & wax the car.
Tommorow might be burning leaves if the town gives me a permit.
Why not just compost the leaves? They are probably to wet to burn by now anyway. They will just smolder.

Well fuck....

Here we thought you were actually longing by a real pool when you were all laid up. Like some sort of rich kid.
Not quite... There were many afternoons of my broken ass floating in the pool with a six pack. But it is an above ground pool.

Yeah, I'm picking up on that.

All that time wasted being jealous of you.Crazy

That was actually only the second time I've shot a (real) gun.

I climbz with WMD. Cutz the rope. And shootz him in teh face to make sure he's dead.

WMD show me sekret krag! I'll bring teh gunz!

I'll haunt your arse.
The secret area must remain secret if i show it to you.

You will do nothing to my arse. It's already spoken for.
Well then..

No secret crag for you.

yeah I totally got to help fight a crazy person today. It was awesome.

Worthless without pix.
What happened?
The psycho bitch decided she did not want to be in the hospital anymore. The hospital staff decided that she was staying. And I didn't exactly have time to bust out the camera phone.
I wonder if I got called a psycho bitch when I was in the hospital. Er.....I wasn't what you'd call an idea patiant those first couple of weeks.
yes, but you had several other things going on, i.e. a broken hip.
No broken hip. Femur and pelvis though. Plus ribs and skull. and a bunch of other stuff.
Femur+Pelvis=hip
This is corekt.
I wouldn't have pegged you for failing math too.

Um, business major hear. Math is not supposed to be one of our strong points.

Though I really can't hide behind that veil, since I am in all functionality an engineer.

Crap! STooPiD Double standards.

But technically the hip is nothing more than the socket that connects the femur to the pelvis, so if both the femur and pelvis are unstable, then essentially the whole area could be considered broken. Doc's math is korekt. You are wrong. As you treat the PT the same, regardless.
