Add in some dead mother-in-laws and I'm sure Doc would take it there too.

Did you get on Central pillar of frenzy? No, just some easy stuff on Glacier Point, Chruchbowl and Five open books, with the exception of playing on one .10, which, for me, is hard. Central Pillar is on my buddies list, though, hopefully I will get on it.

Chillaxing at a friends' house outside of SF for the day, then heading to the valley Sunday. The drive was an asskicker, but I made it. I also got some funny looks in rest stops, firing up my stove. So far, I'm having a blast and I haven't even harnessed up yet. Good to be travelling again. [image]http://lh4.ggpht.com/WanderlustMD/SG7eDhHL35I/AAAAAAAAAbM/pdAVUqW9Rtc/022.JPG?imgmax=512[/image] [image]http://lh3.ggpht.com/WanderlustMD/SG7eFeoLcII/AAAAAAAAAbU/F2DrXRsM9NI/021.JPG?imgmax=512[/image] So what if it's gh3y purple? The bed is working great. [image]http://lh6.ggpht.com/WanderlustMD/SG7eG8p01QI/AAAAAAAAAbc/REm0Eef2oWg/040.JPG?imgmax=512[/image] Cheers, Matt nice work on pimpin' yer ride there WMD... It's working out well. Thread has been pretty quiet, eh? Let's try to hook up in the creek or Zion this fall. Creek, Zion, Joe's, City of Rocks, LCC, BCC, AF, Maple... Sandstone, granite, quartzite, slimestone, conglomerate cobbles.... Shit dude, it's ALL right here (or a short drive away)! You could spend a significant portion of your road trip on pretty much any kind of rock, and never leave the state of Utah. You should hit Smith up though on your way here, we don't have much of that kinda stuff here. And if you're plannin on being on the road till christmas, well... you should fig'r on gettin on some ice in Provo or Joe's Valley come late november/early December. You DID pack your ice tools, keywrecked? Nope, no toolz. Trying to go light. We'll do some rock, though. The valley didn't really work out, I'm going back in late august for the prime season in Sept. Camp 4 is full of tourists. I did tick off a few good routes though, including the fairview dome in Tuolume M. Could have been better, but not bad overall. Looking forward to Squamish. BTW, El Cap is friggin huge. Saw a young lady top out after soloing Eagles Way, pretty cool. Cheers, WMD Yes, it is immense, isn't it? October is a better time to be there, as by then it has begun cooling off a bit. Though my first wall there in the first week of October ('03)it was 95+ degrees daily, since then it has been great temps, but will depend on how late the summer decides to stay. No worries on the tools, I'm sure we could find something for you to use, it's the boots we'd have the most trouble with, you'd have to climb in plastics (not my favorite boot to climb in.) Yeah, it will pretty much have to be Sept. though. I want to go to Zion sometime in Oct. Although my "plan" is def. not set in stone. The main thing is being there when I can get partners. there were just no climbers around this past week. We saw one party on churchbowl, but that was it. I'm hoping in Sept. there will be more climbers staying in the valley. I have no cell or internet in the valley itself, so coordination with people outside the valley is tough.

Sounds like an awful lot of driving. You make me sick with all the stuff you just drove right by. If you would have taken your time you could have rolled into Yos. when it was cooling down.
