Far side, Garfield and calvin and hobbs are definitely my favourite. I haven't heard of the bloom one they were talking about, though.

what is it with teh feriners and garfield? It's nowhere close to teh level of the three we've been mentioning.

I found it pretty funny when we were talking about Bloom Country and Politics and the Koala mentioned Garfield. I was expecting Family Circle to come up next.

i'm wrong for not being a calvin and hobbes fan?

Yes. And as much as I hate to agree with Snupes, I think C&H and Bloom Country may be the top two.

Crap, I forgot about Farside. We have a trifecta. Though I could easily place C&H in third, I couldn't choose between Farside and Bloom.

Yeah, for me it would be a close call between Far Side and C/H for #2.

You guys are living in the past. When BC came back just recently it was just tripped out. There is not new C&H now either. Right or has my paper just dropped them.

Anyway, the best one that I see now is Pearls

Yeah, when the aussie mentioned Garfield, I was about to tell him to get right the fuck out and never come back again. But then I decided not to, since I've been being so serious, and he might have seriously taken offense and cried the real tears.

But seriously, Kachoong, get right the fuck out!

and take haggisdonny with you.

Whatever... lick mah ballz!

Cyanide and Happiness is the best modern cartoon strip...

That's probably a fair statement. I haven't read a lot of them, but I went through some website that Ekop posted up a long ways back and there's certainly some quality humor there.

calvin's dad looks a lot like you, doesn't he?

wait, are you talking about the BC that was the terrible pseudo-Christian propaganda years ago? Cavemen that believed in Jeebus? Gawd that was a terrible comic.

no, Berke Breathed was doing Sunday strips called Opus -- obviously, the penguin was still the same main character. Don't remember who else was involved in the strip. I generally preferred the weekday strips anyway, they were better since you could have a long plotline.

BC is terrible, yes.

Oh, I've gotcha, you were using BC= Bloom County.

I think there was another spinoff of Bloom County called Outlands, that was not too bad.

yeah, Bloom County ended with Opus walking through a door into Outland.

Yes, most my 80s comes from BC and my dad bitching about Regan, my 90s from SNL and following the hilarious escapades of Slick Willie, and in 2000 I mostly relied on Bill Mahr and the Daily Report.
