That sucks!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Isn't there another gathering at Nelson around April?

hey everyone, i hate to say this, but i am not sure that i will be able to attend this year. i was on a motorcycle ride wednesday when i was rear ended at a traffic light. to sum it up, i have 2 busted ribs, severe lacerations on the face(yes, i was wearing a helmet, but it blew off on impact!), muscle damage in my right calf, and ligament damage in my left knee. so climbing is definitely out! and i am not really sure what the doctors will allow me to do. if anything changes between now and then, i will let you know. again, i am sorry, i was looking forward to it. take care and hope that you have a good time!

Dang,

I know how it feel not to be able to climb. I had a mountain bike accident three weeks ago and brock by collar bone clean in two. Still cant climb ... it sucks. Hope you have a speedy recovery. I am still thinking of swinging by Seneca just before Turkey day if the Doc clears me for climbing.

dam Ben - I hope you're alright man. Good luck on your recovery. You have to train someone to smoke a turkey for us! I'll be stuck eating MRE's otherwise!

you could never starve at Seneca. That little store a couple of miles from the visitors center is dirt cheap and good food. Last time I was there I was all prepared to cook breakfast but when I foud out about the breakfast you could get at the store there was no way I was going to cook my own food. Nothing like good country cooking, and the price was honest country too.

Twall for new years.

GS sounds great for the day after Turkey day

Question: Does Governers Stables have any TRAD routes? it sure would be nice to get on the sharp end again. Anything near Lewisburg, PA? thats were I will be for Turkey day.

Despite two rather obvious attempts to derail this discussion, let's get it back on track.

I'll be in Seneca that weekend, would love to climb with anyone, anywhere, any time. I can get the weekdays leading up to and away from the holiday off as well, so I'll talk/pm to whoever for details as we approach.

And if the weather goes to crap, we can go to Franklin and do trailwork... nothing like the taste of smoked turkey and cold beer after a day of fixing everyone else's mess at Franklin.

So who is in and when during the Week of November 21st through 27th will everyone be at Seneca to climb?

the 22nd and 23rd look good for me.

If you are coming through Harrisonburg (east side of the Apalachians, I-81/Rte33W) stop in town and call me, pm for number. I'll be home and working on and off all that week.. flexible schedule. Let me know.

Howdy! I am 90% sure that i'll be down in Seneca next week (I haven't quite convinced my climbing partner yet, but i'm sure he'll fold), do you folks have room for a couple of strangers in your festivities? We plan on arriving sometime Wednesday morning (after driving all Tuesday night) and leaving Sunday morning, and climbing every moment in between. I have a nice little Coleman 2-burner that can do some cookin', but unfortunately my supply of home-brew has recently been emptied  .

So, if you folks are still planning on celebrating, do you have any more ammo i can use to convince my partner that the driving is worth it?

hey ya'll, really bumming about thankgiving. i am feeling a bit better, but don't think that i am gonna make it to cook this year. had an mri on my knee today and see the dr next tues. if it goes the way my luck normally goes, they are probably gonna do some cutting. i will say one thing for sure, i wouldn't wish broken ribs on anyone but my ex wife and the lady that hit me! i hope that you guys have a good time. and i promise that come spring i will make it up to ya'll and smoke you a turkey when i am back to climbing!

oh, and after looking at my signature it dawned on me, "climbing is definitely safer than riding a motorcycle"

Diana and I are in Saturday and Sunday. Easy routes are just fine. If you need someone to climb with, sounds like you'll be able to take your pick.
