We all have bought gear, books, etc. that we no longer use, but someone else could. Now is your chance to do something about it.
The idea for this thread came to me when people started trading gear they never used in the recent thread about gear we wish we had not bought.
I propose that we trade/sell gear we have for what we might want (money or other gear) similar to a very informal classifieds for anything we might have sitting around that's in safe condition, but didn't feel that it was a major enough piece to justify selling on it's own thread.
For an example, I just mailed off a slung hex that I didn't use for a tibloc that someone else didn't use.
I'll go first. (don't forget books and climbing clothes)
I would swap:
-10 brand new 5" nylon Quickdraw runners from Sterling and Rock Empire. These have one snug loop for holding the biner in place and the other biner loop is loose.
-Set of old BD/Chouinard Stoppers in the following sizes: 7,8,9,10,10 plus three extra larger recently slung BD chocks in sizes 6,7,8.5. These have scratches and show use, but are perfectly safe and I have and would trust them 100%.
-Mega-mid clone. This 9'x9' pyramid tent is made by the canadian company Outbound and is an exact copy of the BD megamid. I've recently seem-sealed it and I used it for alpine stuff last summer in rainstorms and very high wind with no problems at all. (roughly 3lbs.. I can weigh it)
Stuff I'm interested in getting:
-Spectra Daisy Chain for clipping in at anchors
-lightweight windshirt of some type
-Petzl Tibloc
-pink and/or red tricam
-light titanium cookpot (~1 liter)
-Large cam of some type, eqivalent size to a 3.5 or 4 camalot/#5 Friend.
-Adjustable trekking/ski poles like the BD Flick locks.

I have a 8.4mm dry treated, Sterling Marathon half rope (60M) that I got from a photographer I work with (he used it on a photo shoot). It's brand new...would be willing to trade for a decent gear sling and headlamp...

Im trying to PM you but its not working.
So he used it but its brand new?
Also are u just wanting a over the shoulder standard gear sling? I might would be willing to trade.

I've got a Granite Gear Alpine Light backpack, Small Torso size, that I never use anymore. Had it about a year. Willing to trade/upgrade for AT gear (binding, skis, something) Avy probe, shovel...I'm open to some suggestions.
