Hey everybody, I'm new to the board and don't post often, but I have a question. March 4-11 I'll be in Costa Rica with a few friends and want to do some climbing. We have a 60m rope and webbing for top rope anchors but no sport or trad equipment. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good spots in Costa Rica to boulder, toprope or sport, or of any good guide books. Also, if anyone lives IN costa rica and wants to climb with us and take us out for a day of toproping or sport climbing and show us around wed be much appreciative! We're on our college spring break and will make it up to you in drinks! Thanks a lot. - Clayton

I just came back from there and was origianlly going to bring the gear to climb, but had trouble finding good info and decided not to slog the extra weight around all over the country. the pics I saw looked pretty good, but didn't really look like there was enough to deem the effort. good luck, its a great place to spend a little bit of time! -p

Same question, but only for the Malpais region, and only for bouldering (who wants to slog gear in when the only other stuff I'm bringing are surf shorts and sandals?)

I'm going to be there from March 5th to the 9th and am looking for climbing too. I'm staying at the Guanacaste area at a Beach resort. I'm taking shoes and chalk. Contact me if you want to try to climb. Jason
