Hi all, I'm going on a one week climbing trip to red rocks and was wondering what's the biggest piece of pro I should bring? I've got my eyes set on some of the long moderate trads such as epinephrine and Crimson Chrysalis. Is a Camelot C4 #4 big enough to get around most classics? Is there a need to double up on some of the sizes? Thanks.

a #4 is usually sufficient for most of the big classic trade routes, including epi. i think the biggest cam you need for Crimson is a gold camalot, maybe a blue. anyplace wider than that is equipped with a bolt. double up on most things to a #3 camalot when you bring gear, then rack accordingly for the climb. some climbs require doubles, others dont. bring lots of 24" slings and a second rope as well. have fun while you're here!

I did CC with nothing bigger than a gold Camalot. I don't remember wishing I had anything bigger.
