I can't get enough of climbing! I just discovered this forum site and now I have just spent the first two hours at work online here! I think of climbing before going to sleep - I've actually found it is the BEST stress reliever. I work out problems and visualize the moves before falling asleep - I think about where Im going to go climb next, what I want to lead next all the time. I started leading more this year and had a breakthrough last weekend with a 10d lead. It was aswesome. But I had my first fall. I am so in my own world when I climb that I truly didn't realize I fell and kept climbing ... my boyfried below was shocked and decided not to say anything. When I got down to the dirt, he was laughing and said, "do you realize you just had your first leader fall -ever!" I didn't because I was so intent on going up and completing the climb - What a great experience! Has anyone else had that type of experience? (Don't worry, I am still afraid of falling, but I tend to do the downclimb thing when I am spent instead of take a whipper.)

ahhh welcome to the addict club. Now that you are a addict you will no doubt be taking people out so that they can get hooked........Does that make us drug dealers???????? congrats on loving the sport ( and you'll get used to taking whippers, try falling from a roof where you just float in space) WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Cheers Mike

hee hee . See - Im back - can't get enough. maybe Im not pushing myself hard enough because I haven't "taken a whipper?" But, I toproped for years before I started leading and so maybe I am overly cautious about pushing myself too fast. But now Im addicted to leading and won't go back! Hmm I suppose this is the support group I needed....

I totally know what you mean. I love this sport. I got hooked over a year ago and have had the priviledge of getting three others on the band wagon. I can`t wait for my next fix.

i just had my first taste of outdoor climbing two weekends ago on a trip to devil's lake. we made a second trip, at my insistance, the next weekend. I've already spent about 300 dollars on climbing, and have found a place to "boulder" within walking distance from my apartment. (weak tho it may be) I'm hooked, for sure. I've been wanting to get into it for years now, and now that I have people to go with.....it's all over. *sigh* there goes the money. I already want to do lead climbing.
