OK, we're all sitting staring at our computer screens wishing we were climbing. (More precisely I'm actually sitting here staring at my swollen finger and a tube of Traxam Gel wishing I had allowed more than 7 days for a ripped tendon to heal). But I digress. Wanting to go climbing often requires an element of selective amnesia about the last time we went climbing, otherwise nobody would actually go ice climbing more than once, right? The truth is, climbing can be a little like war: 90% boredom and 10% sheer terror. Those of us "fortunate" enough to have experienced Scottish Winter climbing might actually consider it to be 90% misery and 10% sheer terror, mere boredom being an unexpected bonus. All those white-outs and spindrift avalanches endured for that elusive "perfect day". There are times when we are climbing (or at least belaying) that we wish we were anywhere else. The mind wanders. We start to fantasise. My question is this: what's the best fantasy you've had while on the crag? My personal favourite came from a very, very miserable weekend's Winter climbing. I won't go into too much detail but suffice to day it involved being airlifted from the crag inside a freshly baked giant loaf of French bread, accompanied by a couple of nubile and very willing Swedish girls. So come on, let's hear your best "crag fantasies". Marks will be awarded for imagination, style, content and the degree of suffering you were experiencing during said fantasy. Boulderers need not reply.

Free soloing, and getting fearwashed near an incredibly hairy crux way upwards... clearing the crux, topping out, and gazing west just in time to watch the sun sink into a cranberry flavored cloudbank...

I was dreaming about a huge, 40 foot deep by 100 foot wide horizontal limestone roof... Wait. I was AT ONE. Dammit, LIMESTONE, why must you make all my dreams come true? http://www.bloodyflapper.com/images/A57_10.jpg
