I was wondering if anyone had any pics, or know where some I can find some of Tobin Sorenson. I've read a good bit about this madman, and I would really like to see the man behind the myths.
Thanks.
B.

I'll scan and e-mail you one but it can't be posted because it is copyrighted. Probably later this afternoon.

the late Tobin Sorenson was not a "madman" he was just pushing the limits. I'm sure he climbed within his comfort zone.

I have a picture of Tobin in my local climbing guide, but it's probably the same picture that JMLangford is going to send to you.

He put up this 5.10 face climb here that is so run-out, it hardly ever gets done. He also was the guy who freed the Cobra on the Royal Arches.

Read John Long's description of Tobin in his "Big Walls" book. Long was a friend of Tobin and even he admits that Tobin was reckless. A great character to be sure...but reckless and yes...perhaps a bit mad.

Hey! What's wrong with being a madman?! I find it interesting that many great climbers were called "madmen" or "crazy" or something similar. Heck, I even call climbers that now when they do something I can't do!

There were some great Tobin stories in Lynn Hill's new autobiography that came out. I highly recommend the book to anyone.
