Depends on the area you're intested in. Victoria has it's own guide book, it can be picked up at local outdoor shops Robinsons & Valhalla. Nanaimo also has it's own book, it can be picked up in Victoria area shops as well as nanaimo area shops. There is also a small pamphlet covering Horne Lake climbs. Comox Valley also has it's own guide book, this can be had in Victoria, Nanaimo and in Comox Valley Outdoor ships Other than that Island Alpine covers some other climbing areas in the region such as Wapati Valley. There is also a Salt Spring Island guide and a Powell River guide available locally as well.

What are some really nice sport areas? I would also like to do some lower grade (5.7's & 5.8's) trad climbs. Any recommendations. We are camping around the island for 2 weeks and we are planning our stops based on climbing, so location doesn't matter so much.

Nanaimo has some good sport routes, (The steppes in Lantzville, cabin at the top of the crag). Go to crest creek. North west corner of Strathcona Park on the way to Gold River. This place should not be missed. There isn't much of a guide, just topos with names and grades. But the climbing is great. Mix of sport and trad.
