I'm from Fort Hood. If you are ever in need of a partner to go to e-rock and do some Trad, PM me... Not a big boulderer or sport fan, but to each his own... -Doc

hey you might want to check out the Austin climbers yahoo group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/austin_climbers/ Pete usually invites everyone out on Tuesday and Thursday evenings to the new wall, and Saturday and Sunday at reimer's. I usually get out with a few people to the new wall on Tuesday mornings around 10. you are welcome to come, we are always looking form more people.

There lots of climbers in Austin. Climbing with Pete on Tues and Thurs may one of the best ways to meet locals and learn all the spots. Also meet and talk with locals here>> http://www.erockonline.com/newforum/index.php

Hello David: Who is this Pete? He sounds like he knows his stuff! I am very new to Austin and looking for a group to climb with. This group that meets tues/thurs/sat/sun sounds sweet! Do y'all meet somewhere at a particular time? I would love some help getting oriented to climbing opportunities around Austin! Thanks, Jen

Pete is one of the nicest and most knowing peeps in Austin. Been climbing for a long time. He is in his mid 50's . Grey hair and a welcoming smile. Very un-assuming type. Can be found at new wall on tue and thursday after 5:00. The only "set" times for meeting up is new wall on tues and thurs. Other than that it is best to schedule with a partner. Shoot me a PM, guests are always welcome with me. Is this the same Jen from Erockonline? if so, get this damn whistle off my pack!!

Jen, sorry for the delay, but i got to be out of town last week for a climbing trip. if you are interested in coming out tuesday mornings we will meet at the spyglass entrance around 9:30 am. you can PM me if you need directions. there are usually people down at the new wall after 4 pm on tuesdays and thursdays. if you look friendly and ask they might let you climb with them, unless you fly up their projects and spray about how easy it was. on saturday and sunday Pete and a motley crew of people usually go to reimer's. the arrival time is varied, but usually between 9 and 11 am. you can usually find them (and many others) warming up at prototype wall, but it might be easier to catch them at the new wall since it is a shorter drive. dave

can't say i've met pete. sounds like a nice guy. i got to meet tommy not too long ago over at new wall. anyways beatz, to get to new wall, take mopac south. exit barton skyway and take a left at the light. go down to the "T" and park there. go down trail, take right, and hike for 3/4 a mile or so. it'll be on the right. good reference for climbing areas is erockonline. if you have the cash, you should splurge on the guidebook. much better than carrying a stack of topos around. shame i never get to go out on those days. stuck in school. maybe next week (dead week) i'll get the chance to be out and about. -Alan

hey there! I'm living in Austin until June. Once work calms down a bit, I'll be heading out to Rimmers and Greenbelt more often. Hopefully ERock, too. Once I get on top of the $$$ situation, I'll be heading to the North gym, too. Anyhow, always looking to climb, schedule and gas in the tank permitting. As it is, these 9AM to 7PM days don't leave much sunlight for being outside! I usually boulder, but always up to learn more.

Anybody going out climbing over the break (after Dec. 13th for me) and is willing to take someone who's still a beginner out, I'd love to go.

After the beginning of the year, I would be willing to meet in the Austin area. I'm just down the road in San Marcos going to school. However, you should know that I know very little about climbing. So, you might be the ones mentoring me. If anyone is really interested in mentoring myself, please PM me. Kyle

I'm up near Ft. Hood, but will be moving to Austin shortly. I used to climb a lot in Tennessee and Kentucky, and would love to get back into it. I can lead sport (mostly just 9s and low 10s) and want to learn trad. I'm a little out of practice, but will hopefully get it back quickly. PM me if you're interested. -Liz

Anyone interested in indoor climbing and sport climbing? I started climbing a couple months ago and love it! I will be living in South Austin in a month (right now I live up North). My partner right now is leaving for seven months and I want to keep at it. I really need someone who would like to climb with me. I don't know how to lead climb so someone who can do that would be great but we could always find someone also. Let me know if you are interested!

I am 20 and have just come back to Austin from college in Washington. I have six years of total climbing experience but have only started leading in the past two. I am comfortable leading 5.10. I really need a partner and i am up to climb wherever, Reimers, Greenbelt, Enchanted, etc. Give me a call if you want to go climb. Andrew McConnico 512 554 3512
