are these biners any good? they have them for 4 dollars a piece and rockempire.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=23 They hold 25 kn, are wire gate. but are thier gates clunky, or are they too small. good for.... don't look great for hauling, cause they just look small...if it was only serving one purpose, and it didn't need to be big, generally speaking it would be fine.

i'd be using them for general use. i.e. connecting pro to the rope, anchors, etc.

I've got several that are the same size as these - they are great for QD's - I also use them on regular runners - however, even on my thin spectra runners when you pass the biner through the other binner and clip off the cord on the other side (to get a short QD sized draw)- the last cord layer or two, rides pretty darn high - pushing the gate area - so I always undo the full runner length (half is ok too) after a clip because of this, and use a regular QD if I want to clip short. There smallness can actually be an advantage at anchor stations for the clips to protection and a cord-a-let - but they are not very good for back-to-back opposing load point tie-ins, rap brakes, Garda hitches, racking gear (like nuts). I carry a few regular ovals for these reasons - but boy are those ovals heavy compared to those wire gates!
